Elections for GBA Officers & Directors and JD18 Officers – April 28
The following members have been nominated to serve as officers and directors of the Greensboro Bar Association for June 1, 2016 to May 31, 2017:
- President-elect: Sarah H. Roane
- Secretary: Chelsea E. Anderson
- Treasurer: Desmond G. Sheridan
Director (3) for 3-year term starting June 1, 2016 and ending in May 30, 2019:
- Nicholas J. Bakatsias
- William B. Davis
- Kimberly B. Gatling
Regarding the officer nominations, Ms. Roane currently serves as Secretary, has chaired the GBA elementary school book project, and is an attorney working as a law clerk for the Honorable L. Patrick Auld, Magistrate Judge, MDNC. Ms. Anderson has co-chaired the benefit for Legal Aid of North Carolina for the past two years and is an attorney at Connors Morgan, PLLC. Mr. Sheridan was Treasurer for the GBA a few years ago and is an attorney at Isaacson Isaacson Sheridan Fountain & Leftwich, LLP.
Regarding the director nominations, Ms. Gatling currently co-chairs the benefit for Legal Aid of North Carolina and is an attorney at Smith Moore Leatherwood, LLP. Mr. Bakatsias and Mr. Davis are each completing their first term as director and are eligible to serve a second term. Mr. Bakatsias is an attorney at Carruthers & Roth, P.A. Mr. Davis is an attorney in the Guilford County Public Defender’s Office.
Officers of the Judicial District 18 are the same as the GBA officers. Thus, the nominating committee is also recommending for JD18 President-Elect Sarah H. Roane, Secretary Chelsea E. Anderson, and Treasurer Desmond G. Sheridan.
Voting for the GBA officers and directors will take place at the April 28, 2016 membership meeting. Voting for the JD18 officers will take place at the April 28, 2016 JD18 meeting, held concurrently with the GBA membership meeting.
