Smith Moore Leatherwood is pleased to announce that Lisa Arthur is one of sixteen young lawyers selected for the North Carolina Bar Association Leadership Academy’s Class of 2016.
The mission of the Leadership Academy is to help young lawyers become more effective leaders in their communities, whether their communities be the legal profession, their firms, legal departments and any other organizations with which they are associated, or their local, state, national or even international communities, or any other environments where lawyers regularly have calls or opportunities for leadership.
Arthur is a member of the firm’s litigation group. She focuses her practice on defending municipalities in a variety of disputes in state and federal court, including excessive force claims, negligence actions, constitutional claims, zoning disputes and breach of contract litigation. She received her Juris Doctor from University of North Carolina School of Law where she served as editor in chief for the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
